On 07 – 09 November 2017, the South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) in collaboration with Public Protector South Africa (PPSA), Mpumalanga provincial offices, will host public outreach clinics in three areas of Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.
The clinics are scheduled to take place as follows:
07 November 2017, Doornkop, Doornkop Community Hall, 10h00 – 15h00
08 November 2017, Hendrina, Adelaide Tambo Community Hall, 10h00 – 15h00
09 November 2017, Mhluzi (Nazareth), Nazareth Community Hall 10h00 – 15h00
The clinics are intended to raise awareness about the mandate of the Commission; contribute to the promotion, protection and realisation of human rights enshrined in the Constitution of South Africa through improving access to justice; advocate access to information to ensure transparency on service delivery by municipalities and government departments; bring together various stakeholders to impart knowledge about their services; and register complaints and enquiries on human rights issues.
