Media Alert: The South African Human Rights Commission’s Limpopo Provincial Office joins stakeholders in a cleaning campaign at Bela-Bela Town Clinic in Limpopo

The South African Human Rights Commission’s (SAHRC/the Commission) Limpopo Provincial Office (LPO) undertakes to join the Bela-Bela Local Municipality, South African Police Services (SAPS), and other stakeholders, in a cleaning campaign at Bela-Bela Town Clinic in Limpopo Province. The cleaning campaign is in line with enhancing the right to a clean environment in terms of Section 24 of the Bill of Rights.

This section underscores the responsibility to create an environment that is not harmful to the health and well-being of community members. Accordingly, this initiative underscores to create awareness of the right to a safe environment, and protected environment for the benefit of present and future generations.

The engagement will enhance the practicality of human rights and further advance the understanding of international human rights protocols and treaties to encourage the observance of human rights among stakeholders and communities in attendance.

The cleaning intervention is scheduled as follows:
