Media Advisory: SAHRC Mpumalanga Provincial Office to conduct community outreach engagements to promote human rights

The South African Human Rights Commission (the Commission) will be conducting community outreach in the form of information sessions to promote human rights as enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996.

The purpose of the engagements is to serve as a platform to engage communities on human rights as enshrined in the Constitution including the rights to dignity, equality as well as safety and security. Such sessions assist in proactively protecting human rights and preventing violations beforehand. The sessions will enable attendees to make enquiries and lodge human rights violation complaints with the Commission. They will also enhance human rights awareness, increase visibility and access of the Commission.
