Details of monitoring activities are as follows:
Barkly West:
- The Commission will monitor health care service delivery and overall facility conditions at the Professor ZK Mathews Hospital as well as the Barkly West Police Station to assess the protection and observance of human rights.
Warrenton:
- The Commission will monitor the state of public infrastructure, including roads, water, and sanitation infrastructure, which are critical for the wellbeing and dignity of residents. Monitoring will continue with an assessment of health care services and facility conditions at the Warrenton Community Health Centre.
The targeted monitoring activities are part of the Commission’s mandate to oversee the implementation and adherence to human rights standards in public institutions and infrastructure. The Commissioners will engage with local authorities, staff, and community members to gather information, identify challenges, and offer recommendations to improve service delivery and the protection of human rights.
