Media Advisory: SAHRC KZN Provincial Office in partnership with the Department of Social Development (DSD) will commemorate Women’s Month in Inkosi Mtubatuba Municipality.

Attention: Editors and Reporters

Monday, 26 August 2024

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) duly honours the spirit of resilience and courage shown by the women of 1956 to march to the then apartheid headquarters, the union buildings, to protest against the unjust pass laws.  The Commission salutes women for their tireless effort to make South Africa a better place for all, for nurturing children and their communities; and for flying the South African flag high in their small communities, corporate settings, and sports activities.

The Commission’s KZN Provincial Office and Department of Social Development (DSD) (KwaMsane Service Office) will commemorate Women’s Month calendar day event under this year’s theme: Celebrating 30 Years of Democracy Towards Women’s Development. The event will target rural women, including young women and will seek to empower them on various areas, including services offered by different stakeholders in advancing human rights for everyone, particularly women’s rights.

The commemorative event for Women’s Month will be held in Mtubatuba, Ward 2, Inkosi Mtubatuba Municipality as follows:
