Media Advisory: The South African Human Rights Commission in the North West Province will conduct a Capacity-Building Workshop with civil society organizations and legal advice centres

The South African Human Rights Commission’s (SAHRC) North West Provincial Office will conduct a capacity-building workshop aimed at capacitating civil organizations and legal advice centers in Lichtenburg. The aim of the capacity-building workshop is to capacitate human rights champions on the Bill of Rights and the three mandates of the Commission.

The topics that will be covered in the two-day workshop include the right to equality, the right to protest, housing and evictions, water and sanitation, and undocumented persons. It is envisaged that the community human rights champions will carry out work to further the mandate of the Commission after the workshop.

The capacity-building workshop is scheduled to take place as follows:

Venue: Scott’s Manor Boutique Hotel and Conference Venue in Lichtenburg
